Frequently Asked
Questions
What is Indiana
Grade?
Indiana
Grade refers to flooring that contains all of the natural characteristics
contained within the specie, including knots and knot holes, sap, worm
holes, bird pecks, gum, etc.
Is engineered flooring
better than solid flooring?
It
truly depends upon the environment that the flooring is going into. For
gluing directly to a slab, for over radiant heat, for below grade installations,
or for any place that may have severe changes in humidity on a regular
basis that are beyond your control, engineered flooring is far superior
in comparison to solid flooring.
What is the advantage
of prefinished flooring?
Prefinished,
or factory finished flooring has numerous advantages a) no on site sanding,
therefore less of a mess to clean up b) less time needed for the installation,
since the material is already finished c) much easier for the do-it-yourselfer
to complete the job because there is no sanding required.

own floor?
Yes, many
times customers will design their own patterns, or alter existing patterns
to create a floor installation that would be unique, and one-of-a-kind.
Can I purchase
flooring with a credit card?
Yes, we
accept Visa and masterCard.
What is the best
way to get the flooring to me?
LTL carriers
(truck lines such as ABF, Yellow Freight, etc.) are typically the best
method of shipping your order to you. With your zip-code, the weight of
the order, and any special delivery instructions needed (inside delivery,
Pallet jack, etc.) we can accurately estimate the cost of your shipment.
What is the typical
lead-time from date of order until my floor is ready to pick up?
The lead-time
varies based on the Specie, Grade, Size, and type of product ordered.
Typically we need 2-3 weeks for unfinished products and 4-5 weeks for
prefinished products
What if I do not
see what I want on your site?
We produce
and sell many products that are not listed on our site. If you are interested
in a product that you do not see on our site, please send us the inquiry
and we will get you a current price and availability.
How do I know how
much product to order?
Depending
upon the type of installation, you typically need to add 5-12% to the
"net" square footage figured for the coverage area. Diagonal
installations, Herringbones, or Mitered Herringbones, and Panels will
vary a bit from installation to installation.
